In this episode our Educational Director Stanton Wong held an educational interview with Xiaohan Zhu, the Founder/CEO of Meter.io.

What is Meter?
Meter is described as a high performance blockchain infrastructure, catalyzing borderless economy with disruptive innovations in DeFi, interoperability, scalability and freedom of money. Meter essentially builds the entire infrastructure ecosystem of layer 1 with consideration of speedy transactions, the ability to bridge between multiple chains, and have a native stable coin for transactions that isn’t tied to government-issued money.

It functions as a decentralized, high-performance EVM that’s compatible with Ethereum and other public chains. It uses Proof of Work to create the MTR coin, and HotStuff-based Proof of Stake for transaction validation. It offers a solution for issues with scaling and interoperability of available blockchains in order to provide the infrastructure needed to improve the functionality and usage of DeFi dApps.
